چکیده

Abstract The NOAA Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature dataset (DOISST) has recently been updated to v2.1 (January 2016–present). Its accuracy may impact the climate assessment, monitoring and prediction, environment-related applications. performance, together with those of seven other well-known sea surface temperature (SST) products, is assessed by comparison buoy Argo observations in global oceans on daily 0.25° × resolution from January 2016 June 2020. These SST products are NASA MUR25, GHRSST GMPE, BoM GAMSSA, UKMO OSTIA, GPB, ESA CCI, CMC. Our assessments indicate that biases root-mean-square difference (RMSDs) reference all buoys floats low DOISST. bias independent 10% SSTs remains DOISST, but RMSD slightly higher DOISST than OSTIA CMC, GMPE; also, RMSDs GMPE similar CCI whether they compared against buoys, Argo, or observations, while smaller observations. features a good performance among eight which benefit ingesting expanding regional spatial coverage situ for effective correction satellite data.

Accuracy Assessment of Sea Surface Temperature from NOAA/AVHRR Data in the Seas around Korea and Error Characteristics

Sea Surface Temperatures (SSTs) using the equations of NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) / NESDIS (National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service) were validated over the seas around Korea with satellite-tracked drifter data. A total 1,070 of matchups between satellite data and drifter data were acquired for the period of 2009. The mean rms errors of MultiC...

Development of a daily long term record of NOAA-14 AVHRR land surface temperature over Africa

We developed a new 6-year daily, daytime and nighttime, NOAA-14 AVHRR based land surface temperature (LST) dataset over continental Africa for the period 1995 through 2000. The processing chain was developed within the Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping System (GIMMS) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. This paper describes the processing methodology used to convert the Global Area Covera...

Deriving the operational nonlinear multichannel sea surface temperature algorithm coefficients for NOAA-15 AVHRR/3

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) currently uses Nonlinear Sea Surface Temperature (NLSST) algorithms to estimate sea surface temperature (SST) from NOAA satellite Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data. In this study, we created a three-month dataset of global sea surface temperature derived from NOAA-15 AVHRR data paired with coincident SST measurements...

analysis of sea surface current in sea surface temperature images

oceanographic images obtained from environmental satellites by a wide range of sensors allow characterizing natural phenomena through different physical measurements. for instance sea surface temperature (sst) images, altimetry data and ocean color data can be used for characterizing currents and vortex structures in the ocean. the purpose of this thesis is to derive a relatively complete frame...

Trend of the Caspian Sea surface temperature changes

The interaction between sea and atmosphere has profound effects on the regions climate. Meanwhile, the sea surface temperature is considered as one of the most effective components of water bodies, and the controller of many atmospheric behaviors. Because of the importance of sea surface temperatures effects on atmospheric elements and also given the role of global warming on land and sea surfa...
